70x50 cm ~ Peinture, Acrylique
In this work, I introduce a humorous note that echoes the current trend of photographs taken in gyms, where some women highlight their so-called “sporting achievements”, while mainly caring about their photogenic side.
My heroine trains at home, accompanied by her partner, who voluntarily takes on the role of her coach. She cannot afford the sophisticated equipment usually found in fitness clubs: so she invents her own solutions. She diverts her clothes rack — hangers, hooks — with imagination and generosity, in order to compensate for her limited resources.
This painting is about resourcefulness, humour, and the way we stage ourselves through sport and appearance.
